Mirror

Walk slowly to the glass,
There it shines like a gem,
It shows the true reflection,
To you it will condemn

Its color is a rainbow,
Its passion is of light,
Its beauty is the beholder,
But the beholder stands in fright.

As the eyes face the picture,
Of the cage and all the fear,
The glass it cracks and falls,
The image becomes less clear

The beholder sways and breaks in two,
It cannot bear the sight,
The tears come rolling down the skin,
Like a waterfall it has to fight.

The stained face of reason,
Sinks slowly to the floor,
She thinks of the reason the pain draws in,
He'll be there forever more.
