Towards our last moments

by Antonio Stefan   Mar 14, 2006

New to an aching, yet beautiful world
All you're doing, until your first word
Is just trying, in silence, to understand
Here, in your cradle, where you stand

Around you, like nothing time passes by
Being eager to learn, even a sound
Everything seems simply not meant to die
Innocent is how you are, so young
You study who's nearby, and say "Hi!"

Now, all you seek is pure fame
Satisfied after you have forged a name
Maybe dreaming deep, but it's the same
You're just a scourge and less sane

Tempests shall strike far in your heart
Closed eyes, to what elders have told
Your own essence will be torn apart
Thoughts shall haunt, blaring immortality you hold
These just throw you, back into the dark

Forget the pity life you have wasted
Think at the moments you have tasted
Don't dive in tears to mourn what's done
Just follow your sonnet and chase the sun

An elder yourself, forgotten moments you miss
Then, you realize everything was for this
The moment, in which death shares her kiss
Stalking you to a dark cold place
Open your mind, hope a memory you'll stay
Close your eyes, now you slowly fade away...
