A Lost Light

by Josh Barrett   Mar 14, 2006

Even though,
I wonder why,
I dont know why I do,
everything you said was lie.

We said we loved,
only to find you loved him,
and then your friends gave hints,
making our love light dim.

And soon,
it still never became brighter,
and you left me,
and it still never became lighter.

We got back together,
and the light returned,
until that other,
came and burned.

Burned out the light,
and took you away,
the light faded,
it soon was not day.

I reached for you back,
but your friend stopped me,
and stole the light that was growing,
so we could not see.

I left you,
feeling nothing happy,
and the light was passed to him,
the way it was meant to be.
