Love me Like you should

by Libby M   Mar 15, 2006

Yes I know, I feel it too,
The connection you spoke about,
I have depleted many years trying to tell you.

But every time I found you standing,
Someone else always stood beside you.
So I walked and walked away hoping for one day.

You finally spoke to me,
You finally admitted,
You finally can feel
What I have felt all these years.

There is a connection, no one will understand,
No one knows how or when?
As you said, our time together was short and thin.

But here we are once again,
As if all the years that passed on by
Are only hours away.

Here is our chance, take it while I stand,
Take me in your arms and love me like you should,
You know you feel it as deep as I do, so love me tonight
Do not delay.

I want to know you as deep as I could,
I want to hold you, embrace you with all,
I want to stand beside you, shout to the world,
Here is the man, who sailed for years,
He has found me at last, and tonight I shall be His.

I really like this piece.I can relate so much to this as I'm sure many can.It is sad and frustrating to wait for love, but when it comes, sometimes when least expected, ahhh, there is nothing sweeter. And the connection two people sometimes feel, it can be magic.I'm glad to see it has a happy ending.Excellent poem- in what you are saying, the construction, and the emotion.
