My Distant Star

by Iola   Mar 15, 2006

Far away in a distant light,
Lays my pureness in vain.
Awaiting a battle; a terrible fight.
Where after I will know no pain.

Free from this world; with bondage and steel;
Pinning me down to the ground.
Flying in solitude; finally able to feel;
What being alive is all about.

Coming to light; celebrating truth.
As I fly over mountains and clay.
Feeling the galaxy nurture and soothe.
As it takes all my questions away.

In my star – distant but clear;
My true self is kept wonderfully sane.
Far, far away is what I hold dear.
Safely rocked without any strain.
