Bleeding black and shadowed red

by Sarah   Mar 16, 2006

Look out upon the cold, grey nothing.
Shuffle through the troubled town.
Shadowed red and bleeding black,
Much to fear though all is dead;
Hang your head and watch your back.
Stand up after falling down.

Don\'t know where your journeys leading.
Stumble through the frozen field.
Thinley clad and bare skin chapped,
The futures grim so thoughts are sad;
Wind is bad and ice is cracked.
Use your arms, your face to sheild.

Peering through the tangled branches.
Crawling through the woven wood.
Tasting blood and empty hunger,
Numbing feet in cruel, cold flood;
Icy mud is seeping under.
Go farther then they thought you could.

Gaining ground towards peacefull place.
Fighting through this lonely land.
Darkened sky and looming fears,
Continue on with patient sigh;
Stifle crys and violent tears.
Hold your strong but painfull stand.
