Your Friend Wisdom

by Tom Cheriyan   Mar 16, 2006

When you see a lion in the wild,
Don't go and pat his head,
How much ever you like him,
Otherwise you'll be dead.

When you swim in the sea,
And a mighty shark you see,
Don't go and count his teeth,
Or you'll end up as tea.

God has given us a little friend.
Who lives in our little head,
A tiny, bright spark called Wisdom,
To guide us from trouble's bed.

We all make mistakes from time to time,
Hopefully not grave as these.
So before you lift a finger,
Ask your friend Wisdom who'll put you at ease.

Your little friend Wisdom,
I'm sure he does know,
Ask him if it is right or wrong,
Even if listening makes things a bit slow.

So next time you go on safari and have an urge,
To pat a majestic lion one day,
Think of your little friend 'Wisdom',
And he'll tell you to walk away.
