You will go far...

Love is a dirty word in our perception today,
We've loaded it with control dramas and fear.
It's no wonder we never allow ourselves near,
Except with those from which we end up walking away.

How can we possibly make it, once more clean?
Because, polishing and burnishing don't work anymore.
So much so, it seems we've forgotten what love is for,
We invented this nightmare and run away from the dream...

Love is not some romantic ideal, Hollywood style,
Not about black eyes, broken bones or harsh words.
And it's far much more than the bees and the birds,
It's about trust and respect, and going that extra mile.

Never sell yourself short, 'cause no one else will care,
Learn to discern what is right for you - alone.
Nothing in life, except death, is written in stone,
And your heart, not your mind, will tell you when to dare.

If you allow the one you 'love', to be who they are,
Whenever they want to be, at anytime...
Under any circumstances... you'll be doing fine,
And at the end of the day, you will go far.
