Eternal Wine

by Christy Trenholm Schmall   Mar 18, 2006

Tis' the season of bittersweet
when the taste of the past
and present meet

My cup runneth over with this
Potent wine its warmth and its
Sting seasoned with time

This liquid of life sears open
All scars Then sadness and hope
Evolve into stars

It runs from the bottle
And fills up my soul
Forever mingling the new
with the old

Its full bouquet blossoming through-out the years
Saturates the palate
with laughter and tears

And I drink alone
Awed
In the midst
Of Eternity's brew
Of swirling blue mist
