At First Sight

by Mike G   Mar 20, 2006

As I stand across the club
And look into your eyes
You try to look away
But somehow they are fixed on mine
I try to put legs in motion
But I am frozen in my place
My knees begin to weaken
As I see that smile upon your face
It's a smile that's meant for me
A smile that soothes my soul
Even though I'm holding up this bar
I feel like I'm loosing control
Then it happens
You stand up and walk my way
Man I'm so nervous
But I do not dare look away
Now you stand in front of me
And you take me by the hand
Then here comes that smile again
As you tell me I owe you a dance
All I can do is smile
And try not to screw this up
Then I follow you onto the floor
My body longing for your touch
Now that I hold you in my arms
As our bodies sway to beat
I do my best to try
Not to trip over my two left feet
Now face to face we dance
Without ever saying a word
Because I know what your heart is saying
It's dying to be heard
I know you've been looking for me
As I have been for you
And now that this moment is here
I know exactly what to do
I gently kiss you on your lips
As they embrace mine as well
I have been longing to do that
As I'm sure you can tell
The music keeps on playing
As we continue to dance
The love songs just keep coming
Further fueling our romance
I wasn't looking for love
That's not why I came here tonight
But now that I have found you
I wonder how I lived without you in my life
And so I have this story
To tell our grandchildren when we turn gray
The story of how we met
And how we fell in love that day
