Pushed Aside

by Always4You   Mar 20, 2006

A girl my age
With no friends at all
Eats her lunch in the bathroom
Locked in a stall

I met her today
Wanted to know what was wrong
She barely looked at me
When she said she didn't belong

I offered my hand
And told her my name
She shook my hand
and had done the same

Her name is Holly
She's very shy
The way she eats alone
Makes me want to cry

I just met her today
But I already know
She's a kind-hearted person
Just by the way she said "hello"

I will continue to see her
With each passing day
I will even eat lunch with her
If she says it's okay

Why does she feel
That she needs to be locked away?
What has happened to her
That fills her with dismay?

People can be so cruel
As they make fun
Her delay to retaliate
Makes her better in the long run

I want to befriend her
And show her that I care
I wish to carry her burdens
But for now, she'll be in my prayers

I just don't see
How people can be pushed aside
They start to feel unloved
So they run and they hide
