The Journey

*** This is a poem I helped someone write for there class but it's about her ancestors so it's true.

My ancestors were on a strong shiny ship to England
They took all the belongings with them from Ireland
It was 1869 when they began there loving trip
Mary Honor Noland was waiting watching the wind whip

For she needed air from below the ship was all hot
She had her two years old in her arms holding like a knot
While her husband was down below having fun
They stayed up watching everyone and the sun

Mary was quite pregnant while on the journey
Her husband was there to help when she called him honey
Everything was going well on the rough ragging rain like sea
They had the baby his name is Peter Nevada smiling with glee

Peter was so humble handsome honest young baby boy
One day they had such a terrible strong storm that it was no joy
For this family because young peter did not get to live long
The effect of the storm killed little peter he was not strong

Therefore, the family shed tiring tragic tears that very night
They decided for the best to cover him and take him under was right
Therefore, they went onto a little lifeboat dumped the body into the ocean
Thinking of there son Peter Nevada and gave great sadness and emotion
