Hang on or let go ?

Here I sit, smiling while I cry

Wondering why I don’t say goodbye

I swear, you can cut me so deep

But our promise, I’ll try to keep

Sometimes you, I want to forget

I try, but my heart just won’t let

I just can’t take this heart ache and pain

You promised you wouldn’t hurt again

So many promised kept and broken

So many words left unspoken

I begin to tighten my grip

On my heart as it begins to rip

Don’t worry, everything will be okay

I know that’s what you want me to say

I thought you’d be there to fight away my tears

The one I’d spend the rest of my years

But I know with ups comes downs

Like with smiles come frowns

Sometimes I just don’t know

Whether I should hang on or let go …
