Poetry .vs. Cold

by Lenny   Mar 26, 2006

I like to write poems,
Instead of throwing up,
And writing sure as hell beats,
Soggy tissues in a cup,

When I write I feel good,
No cold will get me down!
And if I write a good one,
All the nasty germs will drown,

No virus can consume me,
With my poets custom shield,
I can fight away the germs,
And go dancing in the field,

Immune systems seem useless,
When Im armed with a pen,
I just scribble down a verse,
And Ill never sneeze again,

No coughs, no snot, no hankies,
For the poetry inclined,
And as for toilet paper,
Honey, all I own is lined,

So if your looking for a cure,
To the pesky common cold,
Ill let you in on a secret,
The cure cannot be sold,

It just takes a pen, some paper,
And a dedicated mind,
And with those tools your sure,
To leave your runny nose behind!

Pretty humorous compared to your other poetry, but of the same caliber.. i liked the idea you used and the many conveyances...your voice is so confident in this piece and i especially liked the ending of the fifth stanza.. but all in all good stuff as always

    Simply lovely.
The first stanza really drew me in.
I can actually kind of agree :]
