Melanie

Ever since the crash,
6 yr old Melanie,
Has been ignored by her best friend Cass.
But she doesn't know why,
None of her friends take notice,
Even when she cries.
It has been 4 weeks since it started,
She feels rejected, like it's her fault.
Her Aunt Jan tries to explain,
"Sweetie do you remember me?"
"Yes, but mummy said you'd gone away."
"Now you have to too,
You have a new place to stay."
"But what about my friends,
Will they come too?"
"I'm sorry baby but they aren't ignoring you,
You past away four weeks ago,
Now quick we have to go."
"But where are we going Aunty Jan?
You never told me that."
"We are going to a place,
Where only some can go,
This place is called heaven,
And it has lots of baby lambs,
The flowers are so beautiful there,
Come we must leave."
As Melanie turns to walk into the light,
She thought she heard a whisper.
So she turned to her right,
And saw her mum and she kissed her.
And without another sound,
Melanie turned around,
And stepped into the bright light.
