Free to Dream

by X Irrad   Mar 28, 2006

Since a day in early youth,
I've avoided every truth,
My world within has come to be,
A world in which I can be free,
To do the things I wouldn't dare,
To bravely rescue maidens fair,
To slaughter slowly those I hate,
To rise the ranks and then be great,
To snatch the birds reign of the sky,
To always smile and never cry,
To wield a sword and rule a nation,
To spark a city's conflagration,
To travel back and forth in time,
To dance and shout and wine and dine,
To wear a cape and magic boots,
To munch on weird exotic fruits,
I while away my dreary days,
Fantasizing in these ways,
That I'm better than I seem,
Thank God that one is free to dream!
