The Coldness

by Kaye   Mar 29, 2006

The coldness holds me
It kisses away my tears
When you were gone
When you weren't near

The coldness soothes my pain
It empties my mind
Distracts me for a moment of happiness
When you aren't kind

The coldness comes in gusts
Right through my bedroom window
When you can't be bothered to visit
When you just tell me a flat out no

The coldness protects my heart
Enveloping it in ice
Sheltering me, hiding me
When the world isn't as nice

The coldness keeps me company
Keeps me from being alone
When you aren't there
When you should have known

The coldness loves me
It will always be there
It will never let me down
When you no longer care

The coldness will watch over me
No matter if I'm wrong
When I need support
When my road in life is long
