Holding me so tight.

I thought of you today
as the sun kissed me goodnight
I dreamed you were beside me
holding me so tight

with my eyes still closed
I began to dance
my feet started twirling
and swaying in my trance

The stars shone bright
sparkling in the sky
catching on the tear
as it fell from my eye

Not wanting to let go
I lingered a while longer
watched the sky grow darker
and it's beauty growing stronger

I know it's what I want
To keep myself and wait
But it gets so hard
Since Ive become the bait

Yet standing here it's almost like
You're here right beside me
That instead of the sun
You kissed me oh so gently

That my arms were never empty
You had always filled them
And the tear couldn't fall
Cause you caught it like a gem

So even though they temp me
And always test my strength
And at night my bed
is cold for the whole length

I will dance each night with you
As the sun says goodnight
And dream you are beside me
Holding me so tight
