Don't Wait Up

When I said I love you
I really trully meant what I said
And I still mean it
I can not get you out of my head
You are my one and only
You that you will stay
I love you so much
I wish it didn't have to end this way
You will be 18
And me, four years behind
I won't let you get in trouble
This was the only solution I could find
You don't have to wait up for me
You should move on with your life
Before too long, you'll find someone
Maybe even your wife
Whoever she is
Will be lucky to have you
I know I will miss you
And that will always be true
You were my first love
And with you is where I want to be
But things aren't turning out that way
I wish I could make my mom see
But she will not listen to me
For I have already tried
Now that you are gone
I feel like a part of me has died
You are my one and only
You that you will stay
I love you so much
I wish it didn't have to end this way

    Although this stumbled with the flow it was still a good write. It is always difficult when a relationship ends but this poem had a lovely sad yet philosophical feel to it.
