So Last Summer

Lying on my bed tonight, I'm wide awake.
I go through old thoughts and memories.
Remembering all the things we did last summer,
and wondering if this one will be any fun.

It was always the weather we asked for,
and we hung out almost all the time.
Everyday we would have a new adventure,
there was nothing we did that ever got boring.

We had summer songs and code words,
late night coffee with the missions we pulled.
Like the time we took my van at 2am,
went to see my ex-girlfriend and hung out.

There was the time we snuck into the theaters,
we saw about three movies that one day.
Remember the time we all went to wonderland,
it was one of the best times we all ever had.

Breakfast would always be an Aero and Sprite,
you always knew the perfect time to call.
Trips down to Niagara Falls with your brother,
or going to the ex and meeting that one girl.

A summer of 80's songs we sung out loud,
mixed with all the stupid games we'd play.
Nights of spin the bottle and truth or dare,
taking public transit to get to where ever.

Elastic band fights and going to local shows,
pool nights with dances and tickle wars.
Then there was the Vans Warped Tour,
The day we were on a picture taking spree.

A summer of friends and good times,
There was nothing that over shadows it.
It never seemed dull with friends around,
Every memory I keep and will cherish forever.
