Why it is important to forgive?

by Kiara   Mar 31, 2006

Does it make you feel better? When you forgive somebody, you forgive them for whatever they did to offend you. When you forgive somebody, you acknowledge the fact that they are humans and that they make mistakes too. You realize that you love that person for who they are. When you learn to forgive, it’s like you let go of any past hatred and hurts that lives in you heart.
When you don’t forgive, you get old and bitter. You see the world in a different darker light. Once you let in those demons, you will never ever be able to fully get rid of them; there will always be some doubt in your mind, some small fear of rejection that will keep you from seeing the world with the bright eyes you once had.
Why it is important to forgive is not the question a person should be asked; the question that should be asked is you willing to forgive? Are you willing to forgive? Are you willing to let go of some of your pride? Are you willing to take blame for your own mistakes? Are you willing to move on with your life? Are you ready to move on with your life and not dwell in the past? If you are, then you are ready to forgive those who have wronged you; if not, then you are doomed to a loveless life anyway.
