Harsh Winds

by Scott Sturgeon   Mar 31, 2006

Harsh winds

The Winds blew in on that soft quiet night
With the little smirk on your face I knew something wasn't right
The leaves started to rustle and the winds picked up
My heart said run but my eyes were corrupt

You promised me love
You promised me your heart
All I have now is a soul thats torn apart
My eyes are dark and empty
My heart is empty with sorrow
And I wonder what lies are going to be told tomorrow

You said your love for me had all gone away
But I can't let me heart just go a stray
The cold winds chill me to the bone
But an empty house is never a home

I cry out for you but the winds take my breath
Another storm roles in and there is nothing left
Thunder is my cries and the rains are my tears
And all I ever do is live in my own true fears

My every waking moment is another Nightmare I don't know how much my broken heart can bear
The harsh winds blow in once again
And I have to face my own visions of Sin

Sin came and took you away
My heart in hand I wonder why you wouldn't stay
I love you from beginning to end
I considered you my one true friend

These Harsh Winds blow again tonight
I dream of you back in my arms and All feels right
