The Woman Who Fell Below Her Sense of Morals

by greg   Apr 1, 2006

Once a girl with silky golden hair
held her head high
along with her pride

sun beating down
on her bronze goddess like skin
strolling down the cement slabs
of the ghost like town

a street light illuminates a distressed soul on the corner

glancing at the soul on the corner
thinking how one could ever sink so low

Look upon the creator of being
jump forward 90 days

her skin isn't so fair
hair not so glimmering
heart black
future vanished
bottle in the left
smoke in the right
strolling down those same cement slabs
her steps in unison with her thoughts

The polyester creature approaches her,
words rolling off his tongue
as if they were rain drops
rolling off the leaves in the forest
then with a nod her new life is on

Again we look upon the great creator
he grants us to view 90 more days ahead

Hair long
greasy
damp

skin as pale as her dieing father

clothes stained with semen

cigarette burns decorate her jacket

The polyester coated monster arrives in his chariot of hell

the back door creaks open

ride the highway to the night
