In Loving Memory of Jody Brown

His cell phone rings
He answers her call
While he held her up
she watched him fall.
All he ever did
was care so much it hurt
He held her hand when she cried
and never wondered what it was worth.
She took his love for granted
To her, it didn't matter
He served up his heart for her
and she smashed the silver platter.
It was his turn to cry
as he head her voice
She begged him to stay
but he'd made his choice.
He told her he loved her
and hung up the phone
Today, this forsaken lover
wasn't driving home
The windsheild grew foggy
and he made his turn
Another broken promise
Another lesson learned
She should have held on tighter
He shouldn't have let go
Why he cared so much for her
no one would ever know.
The police rushed to the scene,
waking little kids in bed.
"It looks like we're to late this time.
This boy here is dead."

-Carissa-
In loving memory of Jody Brown of Doss High school.
