Waiting

Sometimes when you look at me
I wonder what you see.
Like others, do you see my flaws?
Or a perfect version of me?

During the day I stand while everyone passes
I'm stuck waiting for you.
I wait for the take you take my hand
So I know I can make it through.

You told me you want to wait.
This time, you want to take it slow.
I try to be patient
I don't ever want to let you go.

And everyday as I wait
I remember how good it felt when you were mine
How I dreamed we'd last forever
And everything would be fine.

But to this day I wait for you to catch me
And for you to tell me its ok
Continuously waiting
For you to take me away

People ask why I want to be perfect
The truth is, for you.
Because then maybe you'd feel the same
And our love could be forever true.

My head tells me I'm waiting for nothing
And that there's nothing I can do.
But my heart won't give up or let go
My heart still waits for you.

And I would wait a million years
For us to be together
But I know the sad truth:
I can't be waiting forever.

Tonight I wish for us to be together.
And I pray that it comes true.
But I know that in the end
I will still be waiting for you.

**and to this day I am still waiting for him...a year and 3 months later...and I'm still waiting...**
