I Killed Her

by Monique Seidler   Apr 2, 2006

Why do I try to live anymore?
My heart is bleeding. My heart is sore.
Undo all my mistakes and greed.
I left her there. I let her bleed.
"It's not your fault." they used to say.
I know what happened there that day.
It was my fault. I let her die.
At her funeral I didn't cry.
Forgive me father for I have sinned.
She picked on me. I had to win.
She drowned herself.
I went to help.
The I slit her throat
for those letters she wrote.
"It's all okay. It's not your fault."
But I was there too.
I brought her life to a halt.
