Parents

by Mj   Apr 2, 2006

When I was younger they were my protection
From the world that I would face
They taught me many lessons
They helped me learn from my mistakes.
I do not always think they are right
And I try to prove them wrong
Sometimes I succeed
But sometimes they have been right all along.
They have their imperfections
But perfection is not expected
They do all that they can do
To make sure that I’ll be all that I can be.
They support me with the goals I choose
They drive me to dance lessons
And other extra-activities
Which I need a chauffeur to.
They have picked me up when I was down
They helped to heal my cuts and bruises
That I got doing things they said not to do
Like climbing trees with my siblings.
No matter what I have done or will do wrong
They will always be my parents
They will always love me
After all, they are my parents.
