Final Today

by Ashley Redden   Apr 5, 2006

He spends every night
Down at the local bar
Looking for a reason to keep on
In each empty bottle he downs
He counts every reason
Why he ever loved her
As each tear rolls down his face
You can tell by the look in his eyes
There isn't much more that ole boy can take
He don't have no one to go home to
Because shes ran off with another man
Took the kids
And just about everything he had
Hes about lost his job
Boss man says son whats gotten in to you
And he ain't got an answer
Just go back to what he was doing
Work Home and to the phone to see if shes called
Don't go much of anywhere
Its all the gets around
That his wife left him and now everybody knows
Poor boys done lost his mind
Along with everything he owns
The house has went down
Been a while since hes had a good home cooked meal
And counting himself
Hes looking just a little rough too
And missing his two kids more everyday
Theres nothing that he wouldn't do
To go back in time
To make everything perfect again
So she would've stayed
But nothing he can do now
Divorce was final today
