Life goal #1

by Mangrove Blossom   Apr 6, 2006

Things happen to us everyday that change our lives.
We accept that things happen for a reason.
But we can also accept the fact that we can change our fate
With one simple decision through out our day.
It does not seem like much
and it is not always clear which chose is the best-
in fact some are out right hard-
But we can only move one chess piece at a time.

If we mess up on our decision, we can only hope that the opponent does not catch the mistake.
But even if we lose the game,
we can always have a rematch in life.
But be wary because after a while,
yoour opponent gets restless and moves on.
This is the end of all battles and wars in your life.

So, overall, we have to win some and lose some.
Some games are to learn and others are to conquer.
In the end, we have to look back on all of your chess matches and be proud.
Have no regrets
and smile like we have never cried.

I have to admit, I loved this poem even when I first read it in school. The ending is perfect, and has a lasting Impression.
