A Painted Memory

by xEmmax   Apr 7, 2006

I'm painting a picture of you
the person i used to see
the sister who, so long ago
meant more than the world to me.

We're playing outside, laughing
whispering secrets and eating ice cream,
the person i longed for, a close best friend
seems just like a hopeful dream.

And so your life turned around
an illness pulled us apart,
this food obsession engulfed your body
and tugged at my innocent heart.

Unhappiness and misery spread from your grip
a stranger for so many years
you've damaged my life, but you don't see
this pain, these endless tears.

I lay here sobbing, just another night
as i escape your shouts and cries
hiding my feelings, no one will see,
replaced with smiles and lies.

Don't you see what I've become
have you even noticed I'm here,
Just keep on hurting us, i don't care
another scar, a secret tear.

I wonder if i disappeared
perhaps you would notice me then,
I'm painting a picture, a fairytale,
I wish we could be there again.
