Through the eyes of a child

by Iola   Apr 7, 2006

Think back my friend to the first memory of life.
See the vivid pictures and remember what it’s like.
Can you recall in that distant, blurry glaze.
How the possibilities unfolded and how you stood amazed?

At the tiniest ant carrying an enormous feather on its back.
The taste of mud and stone in you mouth – then nails dirty and black!
Do you remember laughing so hard that your breath still echoes in the air?
Running so fast and rolling on grass with not the tiniest hint of despair!

Place yourself back in a careless time where true love and hope do a dance.
Embrace your dreams and dare to look back at a time when you took a stance.
Fear wasn’t an option, and disappointment an urban myth.
Stars looked brighter and the moon had a face and you believed in your worth.

Take a moment and breathe this life through the eyes of an innocent child.
Then move to the mirror and reclaim your life – let your spirit sore wild!

… again.
