Lost

I'm lost on an island, lost in my mind
the midst of disorientation, hard to find.
stolen from the world, washed up at sea
and suddenly discover a distant side to me.

days have gone by, with no help in sight
tragically counting the stars at night
fested with boredom and dying from thirst
asking myself, could it get any worse?

there is no freedom when you cannot be found
imprisoned by the thought of unknown ground.
my direction is guided by a map of fears
trying to find myself for the last few years

am i simply hiding or am i misplaced?
is this just an island or does it have a face?
so much DNA out there, yet so little identity
fears and lost freedom, theres only half of me
on a deserted little island, washed out at sea...
