The Takeover

As a great black shadow
Rose from up above
People started to stop and stare
Was it aliens with a message of love?

Computers crashing constantly
Sent computer junkies into a spin
What is this force?
That the other's are going to bring?

ATM's ate a thousand gold cards
Louis vuitton handbags were thrown
A rich girl pouted her plastic lips
Whilst screaming on her phone

Chaos swallowed the small town
Spreading for miles around
People resorted to stupid acts
To keep them safe and sound

The mysterious object nested
On an average, general store
The creatures stepped out
Killing people, crumpling to the floor

They didn't seem to feel anything
Their faces blank, no regret
Mothers, fathers, children
Running, screaming, expressions of fret

As the creatures pounded the small town
The sea turned to blood red
Marching in straight formation
Hearts made of cold lead

What were they trying to achieve
When they landed on this earth
Did they want satisfaction?
No more human birth?

Who knows their reasons
Behind their deep set eyes
Maybe they felt threatened
Or maybe it's just a web of lies.
