To You, I Don't Exist...

by christina marie   Apr 8, 2006

Just today, I saw you crying,
Do you know the pain I felt?
I was the pain, the cause of infliction,
The pain was from what I had dealt.

That single tear fell down your cheek,
Do you know how I wished to wipe it away?
To hold you close forever and ever,
So in my embraced you’d stay.

That solemn frown your lips had pursed,
The saddened gaze in your eyes.
When we were together, they shined so bright,
You always had me mesmerized.

When you cried, I cried too,
I cried for the both of us.
When you were in pain, I was too,
I felt the hurt and the rush.

When I wiped my tears, I pictured wiping yours,
And I felt your soft touch.
When I saw your saddened gaze,
I had never hurt so much.

When I saw your hand dangle to the side,
I reached for it to hold.
But my hand went right through you,
And my body felt so cold.

I tried to hold you closely, and I tried to make you stay,
I tried to grab you and hold you close to me.
I tried over and over again,
And I learned the meaning of misery.

I still love you, so much,
You know, your love, I can’t resist,
But to you, I’m invisible,
To you…I don’t exist.
