Love That Was Never There

by gasping for air   Apr 8, 2006

For so long,
I thought that we had lost our love,
That somewhere along this road of life,
It had slowly disapeared.
I still had love for you,
I ached from not being with you,
Not being the one you held,
The one you laughed with.
To this day,
And for the rest of my life,
A part of me will always feel for you,
A part of me will always love you.
I am having this wonderful baby,
That we made,
That came from our union,
And I will always be grateful to you,
For giving me this bundle of joy.
But the love has already begun to fade,
I can barely feel it now,
My heart is making room for another,
And slowly I forget what I thought I had with you.
You lied to me every day we were together,
And for days after we ended,
You said you loved me,
Swore there wouldnt be another like me,
When you really never loved me at all,
You just loved who you wanted me to be.
So I've begun to let it go,
And move on to greater things,
I loved you with all of my heart,
Gave everything I was and more to you,
But you've spat on it,
And lied to me.
For so long,
I thought i had lost your love,
That something had gone wrong,
But the truth is,
There was never any love there,
To be lost,
None at all.
