The falling man

He stood so tall.
was told not to tell.
all of the secrets.
he knew as he fell.

he spread out his arms.
and smelt the fresh air.
as he let go of his life.
and he knew he was there.

as he flew. sore. cried.
he knew it wouldn't last.
as his life flashed before.
his eyes so fast.

he said "goodbye mum"
with a little tear too.
"goodbye dad"
"i will always love you"
