One Mistake

by Esther Wathen   Apr 11, 2006

She slumps alone in her closet,
for she regrets what happened last night.
Searching for the answer,
wrists cut left to right.

One little stupid mistake,
has left her all alone.
And now its getting worse,
for she has no one to call her own.

So she sits and waits,
thinking the answer will come.
not even wanting to know,
the horrible things shes done.

It seems the clear way out,
she will take her life tonight.
No one will expect it
from this gorgeous socialite

And now the blood spills out,
making ripples in a pond.
and on and on they spread
until it is all gone.

In the morning they find her.
no one believing this shock.
the previous night was gone,
for they had all forgot.

They did not recognize
all that they had caused,
all that had made her,
but her life on pause.

So really it is not just her fault,
in commiting this suicide.
they added to it all,
but she just kept it all inside.

So when they try to sleep at night,
i hope they remember this verse.
that everything they did,
put her in that herse.
