Every Thorn has a Rose

So many inspiring people around me,
standing strong through so much more,
facing deep and traumatic blows,
but still standing up off the floor.

They see the silver lining,
in the darkest clouds above,
never losing their smiles,
or ever dropping their gloves.

Fighting against the struggles,
with people complaining about far less,
only seeing the sunshine,
they continue feeling blessed.

They'll smile cause they found a page,
from a photo album now gone,
while other people would mourn the loss,
and ignore what they stumbled upon.

They remind me of the rose,
that sprouts through the concrete,
always continuing to carry on,
no matter what problems fall at their feet.

Still they never give up,
like so many of us out there do,
facing each problem with a smile,
and the knowledge that they'll carry through.
