Why

by Pain Remains   Apr 16, 2006

Ever wondered why it rains,
Or why the sun shines bright,
Why one minute it can be day,
And the next minute it is night,

Why you dream the dreams you do,
The way you sleep at night,
Or why my heart pounds like mad,
Every time my guy walks by,

Why the grass is greener on the other side,
Or why your life feels like a big super slide,

First you go high and then you go low,
With bumps in between to make you go slow,

Like there is always someone else that you would like to be,
Like you're never satisfied with the one you call "me",

We are all very different,
And yet we're all the same,
We all have good times,
And we all have pain,

We all make friends,
And we all break rules,
We think we are great,
But really we are fools,

We don't understand the meaning of life,
We spend our lives wondering what happens when we die,

Are we reincarnated and live ever more,
Or do we go to heaven or hell,
No one is really sure,

Why do we fall in and out of love,
The pain there is no cure,
Our hearts will break and heal again,
But the memory is quite pure,

We will never forget those,
Of which we've loved and lost,
Whether their lives have slipped away,
Or they have just moved on,

The memory is a wonderful thing,
But it can also be cruel,
As it can shred pain on each new day,
So the pain in your heart never fades away.
