Your own shade of green

by Kaitlyn   Apr 17, 2006

You know its sort of funny
how unfortunate you think you are
how you constantly moan for things
and wish on every star.

You never realize how special
your life could be
you never notice the things unnoticeable
the things you cannot see.

The things that are most important
like love, hope and fear
have never been very far away
they've always been right here.

But instead you wish your grass was greener
that you were on the other side
you imagine your life easier
not such a roller coaster ride.

Full of loops and spins and speed
And never calm but sore
and then the self consciousness comes along
and you don't believe you're pure.

So next time you feel blue
and want a different style
just sit back and relax
and learn to put on a smile.

For life only comes once
and you can't ever turn back for more
be grateful for what you have
and stop making wishes galore.
