Someone Like You

by Rachael   Apr 18, 2006

You're just like me,
alone in a fight,
Without any help,
feelings out of sight,

You have so many secrets,
none of which are shown,
I don't understand,
so your true feelings are unknown,

The true you is never seen,
and always seems veiled,
I feel as a real friend,
this time I have failed,

As an example,
it just goes to show,
That the 'happy people'
can be hiding among shadows,

Your sorrow is hidden
behind your attitude and smile,
I know that the real you
has been hidden for a while,

You have no idea
how much you mean to me,
And I hope now you know
what I truly can see,

As well as how I understand
the tears that you cry,
You can tell me anything
and I won't question why,

I want to help you,
like you've done to me before,
Because you'll always be
the one I adore,

Like everyone else,
I too was fooled by your bright face,
I couldn't see through your cover,
but now I embrace,

The qualities that make you
the one that I turn to,
When I'm overstressed
and don't know what to do,

So thanks for everything,
I must be blessed,
Because you've made a lasting impression,
one of the best.
