Remember the Red

by Sabrina Bolvari   Apr 21, 2006

Crimson scorches
In burned out veins,
Red flashes in the eyes.
Down the face,
the tears they reign,
But fire blazes
in her mind.

For her heart was
grabbed so hard,
Ripped out
and slowly bled...
the hands that so
Garroted it
were such poor tourniquets.

They say a beast
is fiercest
When it knows
it's fighting fate,
And so for the life
of her broken heart,
The anger will decimate.

Pounding, screaming,
Bleed inside;
The massacre will begin.
But only when
The pain and pressure spill out
Will they see the red
that was trapped within.

So don't let them
hold you prisoner.
Run away
to be your own;
Refuse to live
within their grip,
take your life back in your hands and go.

Because you must
remember the girl
Who could never
douse the fire inside.
All her suffering was noticed
In the face of death
With the last tears that she cried.
