Little Paper Heart

by ari   Apr 21, 2006

It's left, my tears.
It's red, my little paper heart.
It's gone, my soul.
My body, it's broken by you,
and by my tameless spirit.
It's destroyed, my trust
--that was so fragile as it was--
now it will take longer to rebuild, stone by stone
up on mortar.
The castle that was mine, it has been rampaged,
broken into by an intruder, unwelcome in body
and in mind.
I am whole, but empty.
I am protected, but bared.
I am lost, but know where in the world I stand.
I stand alone, with my paper heart in my hand.
You, you made a paper airplane out of it,
and on it were the words that said
I was no longer yours.
My little paper heart.

Wow, this is an excellent poem, i love it, so much detail and such simple yet powerful words put together to bring out such a powerful heartfelt poem that brings across both emotion and a message. i hope this is not true as i no how it feels and do not want anyone to feel that way but if it true stand up hold your head high and remeber its his loss. take care. great poem.5/5
