A Heartbroken Prayer

She wants to know if hes the one,
But shes scared to take the chance.
Because shes been hurt so many times,
By the swiftness of romance.
The guard around her heart is impossible to break,
So she pretends he doesnt bring a smile to the pain on her face.
But at night when she lie down she prays for true love
And asks God to take away her pain,
And replace it with an angel from above.
She prays that when he comes to her, her fear will go away,
And shell love like shes never been hurt before, as if its a new day.
She asks that she may not hurt anymore as tears roll down her face
Shed do anything to love again and have all her pain erased.
