To You I ask

by Timothy   Apr 22, 2006

To You I ask forgiveness,
To the secular world, I do not repent;
The fragments of righteousness dwindle,
As I travel farther from my Savior, Earth's ties augment.

To You I ask understanding,
Because walking as a man is the epitome of sin;
My offenses mount hour by hour,
And the angelic seems to transform to demonic, within.

To You I ask for vindication,
Strike me down! The sinner You should smite!
The shadow grows longer, my Father,
Why continue the merciful respite?
