Mandi\'s Poem II

by d minor   Apr 23, 2006

I see a beautiful lady standing on the other side of a bridge,
I try to run to the other side but it just gets longer,
Itâ??s thrown obstacles at me before,
Iâ??ve passed them all,
Iâ??ve conquered my past demons,
But this latest obstacle,
I cannot comprehend,
Because it is the obstacle of fate,
The Fate of Love,
Love,
That which conquers all,
Love,
The binding force of the world,
Sheâ??s standing there
Waiting patiently for me,
She stretches out her hand,
I grip it tightly,
Now Iâ??m almost over,
But there is one thing she canâ??t help me with,
The darkness within,
Darkness,
Death,
Blood,
She asks me to stop,
But I canâ??t,
The darkness has been festering in my soul for too long,
Festering and bubbling,
Itâ??s starting to scare her,
Her palms become sweaty,
She relaxes her grip,
As I start to slip,
Itâ??s coming out now,
The darkness within,
Shaking scared of what she sees,
And I say to myself,
â??Lord this canâ??t be me,â??
But the truth is,
I need help,
I need your love
I need your addictive kiss,
I need to be in your arms,
For now and forever more,
Until the end of time,
Your eyes are like emeralds,
Your hair golden,
Youâ??re worth more than any gem,
Because Mandi your love is priceless,
When you think youâ??re not special,
Remember your special to me,
You hold the key to my heart,
Your are my reason for life,
Your are the one that I love.
