The Performer

by Dreamdancer   Apr 24, 2006

Lost in this lonely world she was
Wings of broken and shattered glass
Hiding in the corner of her meadow
Withering away in darkness and shadow.

Looking at the passers by
Every day wondering why
Thinking that she never would
Be the one she knew she could.

Dissapointments came and went
Leaving her more torn and bent
Telling her she 'd never see
Anything she 'd ment to be

Her eyes got darker every year
Leaving her with all her fear
Locking them up in heart and mind
Knowing she would never find

Anyone that held the key
That could make her finally free
From the dark and fearful place
That was staring in her face.

So she passed her lonely nights
Surrendering in all the fights
Hiding sorrows, hiding pains
Enveloping her heart with chains.

Trying so hard to rescue things,
happy memories, remnants of wings
Yet all her efforts only came
To bring her even harsher shame.

Now she stands there in her corner
Seen as nothing but a performer
A reputation of being cold
As the one that had been sold

For nothing more than a caress
She\'d do anyting you\'d guess
Giving up both life and soul
Never see you playing foul.

So the time passed in her life
Filled with lies and full of strife
Hurt and tattered, her wings now lost
Asking herself \"was it worth the cost?\".

In her corner of grayest stone
Still so lost, hurt and alone
Looking down into the fire
Raging in her, the desire

To feel caring, to get a kiss
With nothing more than lovers bliss
Knowing she would never find
Love without the lies behind.

Smiling to the darkening night
Deciding now to end her fight
Its time to rest now, time to fly
From the question \"who am I\".

As she turns to the bliss of sleep
She\'s dreaming of The One to keep
He to dance with and to hold for real
The one to ask her how she feel.

She slowly sinks in his embrace
The calm and loving, peaceful place
He whispers, and she soar to his side
\"I waited for you, my beloved bride\".

\"My love, I tried to make you see
All this time you were ment for me
Your path was long, your fate to stride
But all the way, I was at your side\".

\"You looked to far away my dear
To blinded by the lies - your fear
And so you never met your fate
To be my Love, my Queen and mate\".

She believed, like times before, his plea
Surrendering herself with glee
And so, this man, the knight of Death
Stole away her heart and breath.

A fairytale of pain and sorrow
But think now, today and tomorrow
If you take love at any cost
What keeps you from being lost?

To love is not a lonely game
Love can never bring you shame
If you love, and the love is true
The One You Love will care for you...
