Apathy

by lunachan   Apr 25, 2006

Hand me all the blood I've spilt
inside a silver cup
so I can pour it down my throat
don't be shy now, fill 'er up.

I've died inside, so let my heart
dissolve inside my chest.
Let me slash my stomach open-oh,
I'm sorry for the mess.

Old tears have turned to salty crust
So rub them in my wounds
and sing my song of apathy
to a shining crescent moon.

I'll give me a thousand paper cuts
and splash them all with bile
I'll cut my face and wrists and hands
and bleed more for awhile

How do you heal the pain that's caused
from a million well-spun lies?
"I'm sorry." "I promise." You do not care.
I see it in your eyes.

A broken heart's too empty now,
I must feel something more
I've got to poison all my nerves
to know I still feel sore

I hope that you are happy now.
Look what you've done to me
I kind of wish it really hurt
but I'm just filled with apathy.
