Mask

by tiff   Apr 25, 2006

No ones around
to hear her screams
no one there
to know what it means

she gets through her fit
and fixes her face
its all done with
and now shes safe

her parents come home
with smiles on their face
time for her mask
it comes out but doesn't last

a smile in public
laughing at c.r.a.p
but when shes alone
her real feelings come out

she Cries in her sleep
cuts on her cheek
saying she fell
but she really feels weak

they all think shes happy
because of her mask
but really she cuts
with not only glass

she has bottles in her room
full of pills of doom
knifes under her pillows
she used even when she was little

but when the morning comes
nothing has happened
takes a few of her pills
hoping it will last
and puts on her well played mask

This was a very powerful poem.
It's a delicate subject to write about you you pulled it off well.
    Well done
