Devil In A Red Dress

by Eraklis   Apr 26, 2006

Break this spell that holds me
And chains me to my bed
It tells me that I love you
With dilutions in my head

I fight with every feeling
You corrupted while inside
I betrayed my faithful heart
When I left it open wide

Just a shadow of the past
I was before you came
To play with my emotions
In my now, infamous shame

Pity to the fallen
With every breath lost
Frozen in a state of empty
Covered in your frost

A siren in the distance
Singing without care
Luring to your whisper
Just to torture in your lair

Taking without justice
You judge to no degree
Please someone send an angel
To help me break free

Release me from this hold
That's been blinding my soul
My chest is black and broken
From the heels you use to stroll

The imprint of your nails
Still autographs my back
Just a permanent reminder
Of your unprovoked attack

I now know the answer
Of what you really are
Fallen from the heavens
Another burned out star

Come to take from innocence
To hurt and to depress
To leave and to betray
You're a devil in a red dress

Wow, yet another great poem. Yet again its strong, and emotive, and really draws the reader in deep, and makes for a brilliant read. Great Job!
